Located to 120 km to the north of the capital, Almeria. Its access is good, from the capital taking the Railcar from the Mediterranean and later the state highway Lorca-Baza. It is very well signalized.

Its history goes back to the Arab invasion of the Iberian Peninsula. Its name means the Forest in Arab.

As far as its gastronomy, known they are in the middle typical world migas of bread of Albox, that as constumbre is taken in rainy days of winter.

Their main monuments are: Parochial church of Santa Maria, Renaissance style; Parochial church of the Conception, modern construction; Monastery of the Projection, temple where the figure of the Virgin of the Projection rests; Church of San Antonio; Church of Level of the Olleres and the Church of the Level one of the Hawthorn.
